Safeguarding Policy

Last reviewed: October 2026

Love4Life is part of Avenues and is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of everyone who accesses our services. We believe that every person has the right to live free from abuse, harm and neglect. We are committed to creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments where people are respected, valued and listened to.

Our safeguarding practice is guided by Avenues' Safeguarding Adults Policy and relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and other applicable safeguarding frameworks. We follow the principles of prevention, protection, empowerment and partnership, ensuring that the rights, wishes and wellbeing of individuals remain central to all safeguarding decisions.

All employees and volunteers receive safeguarding training and have a responsibility to:
‍
Recognise signs of abuse, neglect or harm.
Respond appropriately to concerns or disclosures.
Report concerns in line with Avenues safeguarding procedures.
Record information accurately and securely.
Review and support safeguarding actions where required.

At Love4Life, safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We work closely with individuals, families, local authorities and partner organisations to ensure concerns are taken seriously and acted upon appropriately.

If you have a safeguarding concern about someone involved with Love4Life, please contact a member of the team immediately, who will follow Avenues safeguarding procedures and, where necessary, work with statutory agencies to ensure people receive the support and protection they need.
